Homage to a Lady Warrior
This
is a heartfelt homage to a Lady Warrior, who fought near impossible
odds to nurture her two sons to adulthood. I haven't had the honour to meet
her personally and knew of her trials and travails and her unbreakable will
through my son who is friends with her younger son and my wife. Her's was a
life of continuous struggle.
odds to nurture her two sons to adulthood. I haven't had the honour to meet
her personally and knew of her trials and travails and her unbreakable will
through my son who is friends with her younger son and my wife. Her's was a
life of continuous struggle.
Widowed at a young age due to her husband’s, an Infantry officer,
untimely demise, she got down to giving the best to her very young sons. To give the very best education to her sons, instead of going back to her native place, she shifted to Secunderabad. Throughout her years of struggle she never sought favours from any one, including her family, even if it meant that to survive in a big city she had to work doubly hard to supplement meager family pension she got. Her dedication bore fruit when four years back the elder son joined the Cadet Training Wing of the Army as an officer cadet.,
Life seemed to have taken a turn for the better but then cancer hit her.
Undaunted she got on with making the younger son's life and it is solely to
her credit that her younger one has also done well in his 12th standard
examination and now has multiple options in life to chose from. I am sanguine that he will make a good choice and God will help him achieve his dreams.
The elder one got commissioned last Saturday and she left on Sunday!
Seems, she had told even the death to wait while she turned her sons into
men who will make her proud in times to come while she watches from
Valhalla, because that's where true warriors go!
God speed to the Lady Warrior!
